They have that in common. Although I have been rejected a great deal, I won't quit trying. Poets have a unique community.
Here's a few thoughts that I would like to share-
Random thoughts that are interconnected by what?
Some things we connect with and others we don't. The degree to which we feel the
connection can be a decision, present attitude or interests, etc. In many ways, it is
a choice. The amount of things I can connect to may depend upon how scatterbrained I am
feeling on any given day. I may read a poem one day that I can really relate to, and other
days it may mean little or nothing.
It seems to me that poetry is a way in, a vehicle to understanding or trying to understand.
Since I am not making any sense, I will stop and try again tomorrow.

"Foreign Country"
The anger
fights
frustrations
swimming around in my head-
dizzying the day away.

a day
with unlimited choices
the attitude taken
deciding
how it will pass.

hopeful-
a foreign country feeling.

wine breath walk
cologne candy

listening
really listening
to
the little things-
birthdays, illness,
divorce.
My feelings of guilt
for being involved in
it all.

I have been busy getting everything on my <a href="http://ferret.bemidjistate.edu/~morgan/cgi-bin/jbradleyWiki.pl?Entry_Point>wiki figured out, but I just needed
to do a little blogging/venting.

-I went to Winnipeg this weekend and had a very good time despite the -40 Celsius
temperature.
-My wiki

I don't want to try and define poetry, but I feel that emotion is a neccesary element in it.

Since spring is coming and I am getting anxious to start skateboarding, I looked at a few sites to order a new
deck.
I was looking at a skate mag over the weekend and saw a photo of Duane Peters that scared me a lot. The wayside rest was the one
that led the state in abductions of innocents. It was 3 a.m. and the coffee wasn't working anymore- I am
not a smoker, but he was, sitting in his swivel air ride seat, not committing to the road or the sleeper, but
perched in between. The high back seat was red velvet, a Volvo with an intergral sleeper that allowed the
driver full movement between the cab and the sleeper. There was no difference. No walkway or portal into
the sleeper. It was a company truck out of Mobile, Alabama. A hot sticky city. I remember thinking-he is a
long way from home, and is trying to wake up. He had a long ciggarette that was sticking out of his mouth. I
want to assume that the filter and his stained t-shirt had a great deal in common. His skin was very wrinkled, like
a old, dried out alcoholics.
The reason I remember him is because that was his morning perch, the outside view changed but his high back
seat was other people's kitchen table. Lack of sleep can make a person
feel crazy, especially during this time of the year when the sun never seems to come out-
the days above zero are cloudy, the clear days so cold.
I went skiing yesterday, finished the loop and met up with a friend in the parking lot. Not wanting
to miss out on more skiing, I decided to join him in another loop at Hobson.
